Risky Business

This year I found myself wanting to up the anti when it came to life. To do more, see more, live more, risk more. I’m happy to report I’ve been taking some risks lately.

Yesterday I on impulse, bought a ticket to Bon Iver. I haven’t been a fan for too long and I’m never aware of when bands visit Australia and so I never purchased tickets. I found myself more and more wanting to attend it and being too late. I jumped on a scapling situation and had the best night in such a long time.

Apart from it just being an amazing show – part of the reason I enjoyed it so much was because I hadn’t planned on it. It caught me by surprise.

I think I had a billion other things to add about what other risks I’ve been taking, but that’s not really the point, the point is just that I’ve been taking them. I’m not being stupid, my risks are still pretty calculated, but they are risks.

To me, a risk is the potential to lose something or to gain something. It’s one way or the other. There’s always a chance for loss, but there’s always a chance you’ll win something too. I’ve decided I’m secure enough to take risks.

Are you? What’s holding you back? Fear? Insecurity?

Peace should definitely be your umpire – but if you never ever take risks.. I would suggest your umpire needs a bit of a kick in the pants. Mine certainly did.

To chop or not to chop?

That truly is the question that I have been trying to answer for nearly a month. To chop or not to chop?

I know, pretty high class problems I have right?

For over a year I have been sporting slightly different variations of the slanted bob/regular bob. And I am now reaching that stage I always reach after about 6 months of the same hair-do.. where I start to send myself crazy due to lack of hair inspiration.

Help!

There are both positives and negatives to having short or long hair. Short is ‘trendy’ and apparently suits my face shap. Long is better for doing pretty things with and is better in summer because I can just pull it off my face.

If you do read this blog, suggestions and opinions are not only appropriate, they are welcomed and wanted.

Counting down the days..

It’s nearly that time of the year – and by that time of the year – I mean..
It’s nearly my birthday – wooohooo!
And while this post is mainly just cos I haven’t updated in forever and to remind everyone about this joyous occaision – there is more to the post.
What do I want for my birthday..? My mum keeps asking me what I want and I cant’ think of anything. It’s my 18th this year so I need to try and think of something good..

There’s the obvious – I could ask for a car. But I already have one.
Someone said I should ask for a motorbike – somehow, I don’t think I’d grasp the full potential that a motorbike has to offer..
I’m trying to think of the other typical 18th presents – otherwise I’ll get something really lame. And that would be – … well.. very lame.
This is actually one of those posts where I’m asking for comments cos I want any suggestions you might have.. What are some good presents you’ve gotten over the years?
I’m not just asking cos I need ideas – I really am interested. Honest.

Choices..

In life we’re faced with many choices.. Sometimes simple choices – Which route to take to work, how many sugar’s you’d like in your tea, whether or not you’ll go through that yellow light and risk it turning red.. Things like that. And sometimes we’re faced with difficult choices – Who I will marry, should I quit uni, should I get a new job – Or.. The choice that I am forced to make all the time.. The most difficult of all.. What will I have for lunch today?
To make matters worse.. Albany Creek has a surprising range of options..MacDonalds – Reasonably cheap but incredibly.. Overated.
KFC – Greasy to the max.
Subway – not so bad – bit pricey for a sandwhich.
Noodlebox – A healthier option
The Pub – no go area for me..
Thai – Not very time efficient..
Fish & Chips – Ew.
Red Rooster – again, a little on the greasy side..
A large number of various bakeries offering… well bakery type things.
Donut King – I’ll just pass
Nando’s – fairly scrumptious..

And these are just the options in walking distance..
For some reason I seem to keep bringing my overated soups from home.. Why is that again?

Oh yeah.. I’m broke.

Also – today my boss decided that he would take the other two admin staff out for lunch today to celebrate us having a good month.. Thanks for inviting me!! Just cos I have nothing to do with rentals.. I had to take my lunch break an hour early – Which means the afternoon will be even slower.. Great.

Yes.. I am in a bad mood..
