An apology

Dear feet,

I know it’s taken me many years to get around to doing this, but I am indeed stubborn, but some apology, although late, is better than no apology at all.

I want to sincerely apologise for all the torment I’ve put you through.

I buy senseless shoes and then force you to endure hours of ‘wearing in’ pain which you never asked for or necessarily deserved.

Due to my overall clumsiness, you are the thing I kick/smash/hurt the most. While my arms and fingers get a fairly good bashing, you are the thing I accidentally kick walls with, you are the guys who get trodden on (sometimes by myself) and battered and bruised.

Most of the time I forget to paint you regularly and therefore you look chipped and worn out, which you no doubt are.

I’m sorry about how much I love shoes. I wish for your sake, that I wore runners everywhere and that I provided you endless comfort. I’m sorry for my 21st birthday shoes. I know they were some of the worst times for you.

Unfortunately, despite this apology, and the fact that I can tell you are hurting even now.. as I type this.. this very second. I probably won’t stop.

Thank you that you don’t desert me. I know you don’t have a lot of choice, what with being attached to my legs and all. Still. I’m grateful.

Sincerely,
Rest of Steffany’s body and Steffany’s crazy personality.

NEW

I’ve been MIA for the last little while, so here’s what’s new with me.

I went to Tasmania for week. It was lovely and my cousin’s wedding was lovely.

I got promoted! I am now no longer a Receptionist. Doing some more intense admin work. It’s proving to be quite full on and my head wants to explode a bit. But every time I get stressed, I think about the people coming in for interviews, and that I was only doing that 6 weeks ago to be a temp. And look at me now!

I got a fringe! Was bored on Sunday afternoon and Georgia had a go at it. It’s now sitting quite funny, but it looked ok at the time. I haven’t had a fringe since I was 2 years old.. so this is very new for me.

Nicole Steers is engaged. I live with two engaged people now, which proves to be, well, a lot of wedding talk! Haha. But it’s very exciting and she is going to look stunning!

That’s all for now.. Might hit you back later with a little bit something something.

My Top Ten

Ages ago, after some advice (probably from a sermon or a respected friend) I made a list of the qualities I was looking for in a man. It was like 3 pages long and pretty specific. I even stated which cars he had a preference for. Not that being specific isn’t a good thing – but I sort of disbanded the list for a time. The following qualities was all that was required for me to be a bit interest.

  • Was attracted to something about them
  • Loved Jesus

The rest I was happy to figure out along the way. I’ve also disbanded that. Now it’s a bit more specific than the two qualities above – although definitely important. But less crazy than my first list. They also happen to all start with A.

Attentive

Articulate

Adventurous

Attractive

Artistic

Affirmative

Adaptable

Assertive

Authoritive

Appreciative

Also – he needs to be funny and needs to find me even funnier. I really need someone who can laugh at my jokes.

I need to figure out how to copywright some of the stuff I put on my blog it’s so awesome. Seriously – what a great list!

New Year Goals

Look I know it’s mid-January but a girl can still wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR right?

Happy New Year all.

In keeping with the theme I just created out of virtual thin air – here’s my new years resolutions – or goals. Goals seem better for some reason and so for each ‘resolution’ i have something by which it can be measured. A goal without a plan is after all – only a wish. I tried to have one for almost all areas of life.

  1. Get more organised - Use a diary
  2. Get fit – be able to run my current walking route.
  3. Blog once a week – readers can hold me to that one. Essentially it means 50ish posts a year.
  4. Read two books a month – shelfari.com
  5. Complete 5 things off the ‘things to do while I’m still single’ list – a post at the end of the year that shows the 5 things I completed!
  6. Read my bible and journal regularly – have a full journal at the end of year.
  7. Be supportive – have all the same friends and more at the end of the year.
  8. Say yes to good things and no to bad things – be a better a person.

September Summary

..September..

Books Read: Max Lucado – No Wonder they call Him Saviour & Max Lucado – Six Hours One Friday

Clothes Bought: I bought a birthday dress and shoes. Yikes those shoes are painful, but beautiful.

Consumed Music: I got some itunes vouchers for my birthday, so I purchased a bit of music this month. I also made a 21st playlist, which meant I downloaded a classic song from every year I was born. Some highlights included Seal – Kissed by a Rose, Simply Red – If you dont’ know me by now, and Destiny’s Child – Bootylicious. With the vouchers I bought the new Paramore album – can’t wait to see them live. And also a few other random songs from The Almost, Alexisonfire who I’ll also be seeing live next year.

Birthdays: Birthdays are pretty big in September. Happy Birthday to Aunty Kerrie, Nathan, Amy, Kelly, Beth, Dave, Sarah, Chetti and most likely others.  Highlights were obviously Laura’s 21st party, which was black and white cocktail themed. Nathan’s 21st which saw hand made candleabra’s set on fire. And my own 21st — which saw my hair set on fire. Accidentally thankfully.

Films Watched: The Surrogates (pretty thought provoking) … and I think that’s all.

Lessons Learned: Lots of hard work and planning can’t necessarily guarantee a successful party. I think successful parties are basically flukes. Cakes can cost a fair bit. Fasting is difficult. Tea is amazing.

Birthdays

Hi darling blog readers,

I’m excited. It’s my 21st birthday soon. I love birthdays. I love presents, cake, decorations, birthday dresses. Birthday parties on the other hand, yikes. So much stuff to do, so much money. Every year I say, ‘I won’t have a party’ and then somehow, I get suckered into having one. I’m sure it will be fun, but right now it feels like lots of work and lots of money. Things I still have to do.

  • Pick up and pay for cake. Probably will be the best part of the party.
  • Set up lights. How does one actually do this?
  • Pick up chairs and tables from church. Hmmm.. trailer anyone?
  • Get food from caterer’s. Pay for it.. More money.
  • Buy hot outfit and find matching shoes. Matching shoes will be harder. I think.
  • Find spots for candles.
  • Clean, because I’m sure the dust will make things dirty again.
  • Mow the lawn.
  • Buy beverages. And coathangers. Actually coathangers are unrelated.
  • Haircut
  • Massage, because of all the stress
  • Finish playlist and find something to play it on
  • Make a powerpoint, maybe.

Typing this list out for everyone online has been helpful.

Thanks peeps. Unfortunately I’ve started using words like peeps.

Love love Steffany. xo
